About NPAF
The Nevada Police and Fire Games were established in June of 1976. We had approximately 300 athletes compete in our first Games. In 2010 we had approximately 2000 competitors. We are currently hosting the 36th annual police and fire games for 2011. We are a non-profit organization that promotes competition with police and fire personnel. The history of the N.P.A.F. includes hosting the National Games of 1988 and had 3902 competitors. In 2004 we hosted the International Games and had 4100 competitors with 23 countries represented. There were 100 athletes from Russia which was our largest out of the country delegation. They were followed by Australia and Canada.
NPAF Mission
The Nevada Police & Fire Games purpose is to provide various sports to help law enforcement and firefighter personnel to participate on a state level within their respective communities through the development of physical and mental fitness, to promote good will and camaraderie among the players, to develop friendships through the years that will serve them in both their professional and personal lives. Also, it is our mission to help support, promote, and/or volunteer to assist our local charities wherever possible.
Our strength comes from our officers, firefighters, and from those who wish to get involved either through participation, sponsorship, contributions in the form of time and/or money.
Their involvement is a key element to the success of our games for years to come
